Grantseeking for Arts & Humanities
In partnership with the Townsend Center for Humanities, team FRCP will be hosting a virtual training on Friday, February 11th. This workshop supports individuals pursuing funding opportunities within the arts and humanities.

Featured Opportunity
The award recognizes the leadership and scientific accomplishments of outstanding early- to mid-career researchers at U.S. universities or nonprofit research institutes who have a record of promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in their scientific fields. They will have made significant research contributions to the biomedical sciences, show promise for continuing scientific achievement, and demonstrate leadership in efforts to diversify the sciences. 
  • Award Amount: $1.15M (over 5 years)
  • Deadline: Applications due May 19, 2022

Funding Opportunities
 
The awards honor work from television stations, networks, radio and podcasts, visual media, online media outlets, independent producers, newspapers and other print publications. With a focus on high-impact reporting, the awards recognize journalism that spurs action, news organizations that go the extra mile to expose previously undisclosed or misunderstood information, and journalists who embrace new tools, channels, technologies, and approaches to provide more immersive experiences for their audiences. 
  • Award Amount: $10K - $30K  
  • Deadline: Applications due February 6, 2022
The Keeling Curve Prize invites proposals for innovative climate change solutions from organizations around the world. In 2022, two awards will be awarded in each of the following categories: Carbon Sinks (Natural & Engineered); Energy; Finance; Social & Cultural Pathways; and Transport & Mobility.
  • Award Amount: $25K  
  • Deadline: Applications due February 10, 2022
 
This challenge aims to recognize new business ideas that leverage technology for social impact from early-stage entrepreneurs around the world. The prize will help accelerate the adoption of breakthrough technology, products, and services that drive economic development and/or solve social or environmental problems.
  • Award Amount: $1M  
  • Deadline: Applications due February 11, 2022
 
The fellowship seeks to support individual leaders influencing and transforming the racial justice field. The program invites applicants to be bold, innovative, and audacious in their submissions.
  • Award Amount: Up to $130K (over 18 months) 
  • Deadline: Applications due February 14, 2022
The organization is seeking proposals for research to investigate the health outcomes of pet ownership and/or animal-assisted activity or therapy, both for people and the animals involved. Proposals should have a strong theoretical framework and focus on innovative approaches to studying the health effects of companion animals on humans within the following broad categories: child health and development; healthy aging; and mental and physical health and wellness.
  • Award Amount: Up to $45K 
  • Deadline: Applications due February 24, 2022
The program provides grants to accelerate the development of bold, nursing-driven interventions that will improve the health and healthcare of marginalized populations. This year the HEI program is issuing a special call for submissions that address racism and its impact on health.
  • Award Amount: $50K 
  • Deadline: Applications due March 8, 2022
Funding with be provided for innovative projects in Machine Learning (ML) that advance the chemical sciences and chemical engineering. Priority will be given to proposals that significantly stimulate and accelerate the development and use of ML and related aspects of data science in the chemical sciences and engineering. 
  • Award Amount: Unrestricted
  • Deadline: Applications due April 7, 2022
The Bay Area Lyme Foundation Emerging Leader Awards (ELA) recognize both established and up-and-coming researchers bringing new approaches and creative thinking to the field of Lyme disease. These grants support new and innovative projects and aim to attract aspiring new scientific talent to the field of Lyme. 
  • Award Amount: Up to $100K
  • Deadline: Applications due April 21, 2022
