Shout out to the Magnes Collection for receiving Koum Family Foundation funding in support of the Roman Vishniac Archive Project!

The Underrepresented Researchers of Color received funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in support of their mission to transform a historically exclusive university into an inclusive community. 

Congrats to the Innovative Genomics Institute for receiving funding from the Doris Duke Foundation in support of their Pioneering Models for Affordable CRISPR project!

The George Lucas Educational Foundation supports the Graduate School of Education with a Computing as Multi-literacies Partnership.

This program supports the creation and premiere of 50 exceptional new works by world-class artists — works the foundation hopes will go on to inspire, engage, and challenge audiences across the country and around the world in years to come.

Funding Opportunities
Grants to accelerate the development of bold, nursing-driven interventions that will improve the health and healthcare of marginalized populations. A special call for submissions that address racism and its impact on health.
  • Award Amount: $50K 
  • Deadline: Applications due March 8, 2022
Grants will be awarded in support of promising approaches to create a higher value healthcare system. Proposed research should be focused on developing actionable solutions to one or more of the symptoms of low-value health care.
  • Award Amount: Up to $400K (over 2 years)

As part of the One Million Black Women initiative, the goal is to positively impact the lives of at least one million Black women by 2030. Grants will support community-driven charitable nonprofit organizations created by and for Black women and girls. 
  • Award Amount: $50K - $250K
  • Deadline: Applications due March 11, 2022
Supports proposals for research that will strengthen the evidence base for public health interventions in humanitarian crises and contribute to better health outcomes for people affected by crisis. Proposals focusing on needs of women and girls are particularly encouraged. 
  • Award Amount: Unrestricted
  • Deadline: Applications due March 15, 2022
The program is seeking proposals that will strengthen the evidence base for public health interventions in humanitarian crises and contribute to better health outcomes for people affected by crisis. Addressing leading causes of morbidity and mortality, proposals must respond to a globally recognized current or anticipated health crisis in a humanitarian setting. 
  • Award Amount: Unrestricted
  • Deadline: Applications due March 15, 2022
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's program is a four-year national leadership development program for full-time doctoral students from nonclinical, research-focused disciplines in which policy is a key driver of change. The program is designed for students who want to improve health, well-being, and equity; challenge long-standing, entrenched systems; exhibit new ways of working; collaborate across disciplines and sectors; and bolster their leadership skills.
  • Award Amount: $30K/year (up to 4 years)
  • Deadline: Applications due March 16, 2022
Funding with be provided for innovative projects in Machine Learning (ML) that advance the chemical sciences and chemical engineering. Priority will be given to proposals that significantly stimulate and accelerate the development and use of ML and related aspects of data science in the chemical sciences and engineering. 
  • Award Amount: Unrestricted
  • Deadline: Applications due April 7, 2022
The Bay Area Lyme Foundation Emerging Leader Awards (ELA) recognize both established and up-and-coming researchers bringing new approaches and creative thinking to the field of Lyme disease. These grants support new and innovative projects and aim to attract aspiring new scientific talent to the field of Lyme. 
  • Award Amount: Up to $100K
  • Deadline: Applications due April 21, 2022
The award recognizes the leadership and scientific accomplishments of outstanding early- to mid-career researchers at U.S. universities or nonprofit research institutes who have a record of promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in their scientific fields. They will have made significant research contributions to the biomedical sciences, show promise for continuing scientific achievement, and demonstrate leadership in efforts to diversify the sciences. 
  • Award Amount: $1.15M (over 5 years)
  • Deadline: Applications due May 19, 2022 
  • Interested applicants are strongly encouraged to collaborate with Aaron Diaz
