Funding Opportunities

Seeks applications for projects that aim to use and gain insights into health and disease from existing single-cell datasets to help accelerate progress toward challenges associated with the compilation and exploration of large atlas-scale data.
  • Award Amount: $200K - $400K
  • Deadline: Applications due August 25, 2022
EIF supports developmental projects, instructional projects, and training programs in engineering education and research that fit their fields of interest. Areas of priority include the availability and use of published information, women in engineering, and information access in developing countries. 
  • Award Amount: Up to $25K
  • Deadline: Applications due August 31, 2022
These grants are intended to foster the early career development of researchers who have transitioned or are transitioning from undergraduate and/or graduate work in the physical, mathematical, computational sciences or engineering into postdoctoral work in the biological sciences, and who are dedicated to pursuing a career in academic research. 
  • Award Amount: Up to $500K (over 5 years)
  • Deadline: Applications due annually by September 1, 2022
Furthermore grants in publishing supports publication of nonfiction books that concern the arts, history, and the natural and built environment.  Book projects to which a university press, nonprofit or trade publisher is already committed and for which there is a feasible distribution plan are usually preferred. You must apply at least three months before the anticipated press date.
  • Award Amount: Up to $25K
  • Deadline: Applications due annually by September 1, 2022
Grants are made for scholarly exhibitions at museums; curatorial research; visual arts programming at artist-centered organizations; artist residencies and commissions; arts writing; and efforts to promote the health, welfare and first amendment rights of artists. 
  • Award Amount: Up to $120K
  • Deadline: Applications due September 1, 2022
The Conservation program supports the professional practice of art conservation, especially as it relates to European art of the pre-modern era.
  • Award Amount: Up to $25K
  • Deadline: Applications due September 1, 2022
Supports the digitization of important visual resources in the area of pre-modern European art history; of primary textual sources; for promising initiatives in online publishing; and for innovative experiments in the field of digital art history. 
  • Award Amount: Up to $50K
  • Deadline: Applications due September 1, 2022
Invites applications for collaborative projects to reduce imaging ecosystem fragmentation and accelerate the spread and adoption of technologies, methods, or training resources. Funding areas include: Validation and dissemination of new imaging technologies; Building capacity; Training and Education. 
  • Award Amount: Varies by category
  • Deadline: Applications due September 8, 2022
The program awards grants to programs and projects that encourage innovation in music production and/or performance and to innovative STEM or STEAM programs for students and others in challenging situations. Proposals for medical research related to curing tinnitus and other hearing impairment issues are considered. 
  • Award Amount: Up to $50K
  • Deadline: Applications due September 15, 2022
The goal of this program is to provide start-up or seed funding to support innovative research and technology transfer projects that have the potential of benefiting the everyday work of arborists. For 2022, the Duling program will focus on Propagation, Plant Selection, Development of New Varieties, and Planting/Establishment.
  • Award Amount: Up to $25K
  • Deadline: Applications due September 15, 2022
Supporting outstanding early career faculty who are committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in science. Scholars will prioritize scientific excellence in their own research while creating an equitable and inclusive lab climate that values diversity and serves as a model within their own institutions and beyond. Eligible research areas include all basic biomedical science disciplines, as well as plant biology, evolutionary biology, biophysics, chemical biology, biomedical engineering, and computational biology.
  • Award Amount: Up to $8.6M per scholar
  • Deadline: Applications due September 28, 2022
This award will fund collaborations between researchers and policy actors who have a clear opportunity to influence climate mitigation policies with substantial health effects. Successful applicants will generate evidence that will support policymakers in G7 countries to advance transformative health-centered changes in the food systems, transport, energy or housing sectors.
  • Award Amount: Up to £2M (over 3 years)
  • Deadline: Applications due October 31, 2022
